Ask anything, explore everything!

Circle time.
That's what our kids chanted last Thursday. It's the motto of Quest Clubs.

We held our first Quest Club meeting last week with eight of our families. We gave the members an overview of the club, had them each introduce themselves, fielded questions, had a snack and then spent the rest of the time working on our group badge of Paper Crafting (with an emphasis on paper manipulation).

After a brief read-aloud selection about the history of papermaking, the club members were able to make one of three paper chains: a classic ring chain, a cut-out chain, or a woven chain.

Members will be able to complete the rest of the requirements for the Paper Crafting Badge on their own. Our club will pay for any group badges its members earn. Members may also work on any of over 1200 badges listed here.
Some completed chains.

Quest Club is for children ages 3 to 18. Our group charges a fee of $10 per family for year to cover supplies and photocopying. (There is no membership fee to join JCSHG.) Our next meeting will be April 17 and the group badge we will be working on is Map Reading.

And we just may have a treasure hunt. . . . Join us at Yahoo! groups to learn more.
